Last September, Saskia joined team South Netherlands as an account manager. Her valuable experience, but also a good dose of energy, creativity and entrepreneurship will be an added value to our team. Time for an introduction!
From physician assistant to entrepreneur
Saskia was born in Bunde and has also lived in Riemst (BE) and Maastricht. Today she lives with her boyfriend Luc, their Novia Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever Milo and cat Guus in Oirsbeek. Her career began as a physician’s assistant, a position she performed with great dedication for five years. Yet it didn’t stop there. Saskia decided to pursue a new direction, namely pedagogy, but soon discovered that her heart lay elsewhere. As a young entrepreneur, she opened Preps, a catering business in Maastricht. Within no time, she grew her business into a success, managing a team of 10 employees at its peak. COVID proved that Saskia is not afraid of a challenge. With creative solutions – from take-away and catering to Mother’s Day boxes – she managed to keep the business running with her then partner. From administration to marketing to coming up with new concepts: Saskia did it all herself and learned a tremendous amount.
Finding and rediscovering balance
After several intense years in the hospitality industry, Saskia decided to change course. She was looking for more work-life balance and wanted to buy a house together with Luc and enjoy some more freedom. Life as a full-time entrepreneur didn’t quite suit her anymore, so she decided to start working for a boss again. She joined Tempo Team as a sales intercedent, where she took on a versatile 360-degree role. She then went to work for IDB as a key account manager, where she again further expanded her sales experience. Sometimes the puzzle pieces just fall together perfectly. When our own account manager Niels was looking for reinforcement, a mutual acquaintance of his and Luc’s brought up her name. Saskia turned out to be exactly the addition we were looking for. Fortunately she agreed, and she started working at Perfact with great enthusiasm. Saskia is not someone who sits still. In her spare time she enjoys sports, walks with Milo, and having drinks with friends. She also loves good food (preferably with an extra spoonful of sambal) – whether prepared at home or in a good restaurant. Festivals, traveling and culinary BBQ’ing are right up her alley. All with a good balance, of course. “Not eating out too often, because that quickly runs into costs anyway,” says Saskia with a wink. We are extremely happy to have Saskia on our team and look forward to achieving great successes together. Welcome to Perfact, Saskia!
