Every organisation has this one issue that they struggle with. They know that “we need to do something with this”, but just don’t know where to start. Perfact consultancy focuses on these kinds of optimisation processes. We tackle these issues through a well-defined method called ‘Lean six sigma’. We look beyond knowledge and systems; the process and the people are just as important to actually realise the desired development. With this working method, we support organisations in further developing towards their desired situation. In other words: making a difference.
After completing two Kaizen workshops in December and April, we started guiding process improvement at the Municipality of Sittard-Geleen in May within the Permit and Supervision & Enforcement departments. Kaizen is Japanese for ‘take apart and put back together in a better way’, and is used in process and productivity improvement in a LEAN approach. Kaizen workshops allow the current work processes of this municipality to be mapped out in an efficient way. The project team supervising this from Perfact consists of several Perfact consultants.
Insight
During these workshops, insight is gained into which processes can be set up better and more effectively. To make a good start with the introduction of the new Environment Act and improving the current processes, we have started a project from Perfact to improve and stabilise these current processes within the departments. In this way, we help the Municipality of Sittard-Geleen to identify, improve and maintain the deviations in the processes together. We map the processes visually – in this project, we chose to hang up the various processes and analyses in the office in large format.
As a knowledge organisation, Perfact likes to focus on the development of our customers, aimed at a systematic approach to continuous improvement. Perfact offers its customers a full LCS accredited training programme with various Lean Six Sigma training courses at various levels. It is a multi-level programme, intended for Frontline Staff (Operators), Specialists through to Managers and Executive Leaders.
Environment Act
The reason for this was the introduction of the new Environment Act in the municipality of Sittard-Geleen. This also required improving customer satisfaction and promoting customer cooperation. The cooperation between the Municipality of Sittard-Geleen and Perfact consists not only of guiding the project, but certainly also of stimulating Lean thinking. Meanwhile, the first eight employees within the municipality have been trained in the basic principles of Lean and Six Sigma methodologies. Soon, the first exams will take place in which the participants (in case of a positive result) will receive a recognised LCS certificate.
