Recently Riquette joined our Perfact family. She strengthens the team in the North of the Netherlands and in a whole new region, namely North-East Netherlands.
A region where Perfact opened a new office last summer. Get to know Riquette better and how she experienced the past months at Perfact.

New office

“It was not a standard startup. After all, there was nothing in place yet, so for the first few weeks I worked mostly at home in Wijster, Drenthe. That’s where I live with my husband; my now-grown children have already (as good as) left home. In the meantime, we were busy looking for an office – we have now found a nice place in Assen. Now that the office is fully furnished, we are ready to move on. Together with the arrival of my new colleague, Roxane (Account Manager), we are going to put the North-East Netherlands region on the map. I’m looking forward to it!”

This start-up obviously brings with it the necessary challenges, but Riquette doesn’t mind being thrown in at the deep end. “I like to look for the solutions myself, and this way you also learn quickly in a short time.”

Don’t bullshit but polish

“I am someone who likes to tackle and do.”This is evidenced, among other things, by her sociable social club life, but also certainly by her background and work experience that Riquette has already gained. Indeed, she started out from MTS Motor Vehicle Technology in a workshop, where she tinkered with cars. Not exactly a standard environment as a woman – perhaps somewhat generalizing, but that tendency still prevails. This experience did lay a certain foundation. Soon Riquette was asked to take charge of the planning within the workshop. Quite a responsibility, especially considering that during this time she also became the mother of a son and daughter. Later the company was taken over and by chance Riquette ended up in the event business, again something completely different.

Here for 15 years she made sure there were enough staff during major events such as TT Assen and the skating races in Thialf. She also trained those particular staff members in addition.
In this world, Riquette had a lot to do with intermediaries, something she found attractive in her work. Her first job as an intermediary was for an event agency. Only the corona period for this agency threw a spanner in the works and Riquette, as a recruitment consultant, started at Euro Planit – a technical secondment agency.

“This brought things full circle, because my interest in technology has always remained. I worked here for 3 years and learned a lot from the profession. What I like best about this profession is that I am in contact with people a lot. I like “reading” people, sensing what they can do, and then placing them in a place where they can grow. My previous employer focused mainly on the staffing of people, and that goes very quickly. At Perfact, I like the fact that we also offer consultancy, and things often happen on a project basis. It is not just about ‘putting the right person in the right place’, but also about ensuring that our technical colleagues are linked to the right projects and that our consultants add value through their expertise.”

Build up and build out

“We are still in a building phase right now, I am also delving more and more into technology. Because of my background I find this interesting anyway, but it also gives me tools to be able to spar at the right level with the client and new colleagues. This new challenge really gives me the drive to build something from scratch, where fortunately we can build on the solid foundation of the company’s strong culture, norms and values. And the team also appeals to me enormously. Because even though I only started in this region, I have been warmly welcomed by my regional manager and colleagues in North-West Netherlands and the colleagues at the head office in Munstergeleen. I feel at home in this organization, where you get the freedom to apply your own expertise, but also experience the conviviality and warmth of a ‘family’. Now ensuring that this family expands further in the North-East Netherlands region”.
